ABSTRACT
Inflation and unemployment are two economic issues that have always been frightening for each country, and two economic diseases is usually always present together in developed countries, such as Indonesia. Phillips hypothesis revealed that there is trade-off between unemployment and inflation in the short term from year by year, government policies often pushing inflation and the unemployment rate to the opposite. When inflation is scaled so will be rising unemployment, and vice versa. The purpose of this article is to examine, whether the hypothesis of Phillips occurred in Indonesia. Verification is performed using data per province in Indonesia from 2002-2010.
