ABSTRACT


The unemployment the in West Java from 2008 to 2011 showed the highest rate compared to all provinces in Indonesia, the percentage of unemployment in 2008 was 12.08 percent, to 10.96 percent in 2009, the year 2010 was 10.33 percent, and in 2011 by 6.12 percent.

This study aims to analyze the development and influence of regional minimum wage (UMR), education, working capital loans, investment loans, and gross domestic regional product, inflation, population, and employment to the unemployment rate. The method used in this research is descriptive and quantitative methods. To analyze the factors considered used panel data analysis. The results showed that the variables of education, investment and employment levels and a significant positive effect on unemployment in the province of West Java, while working capital loans and inflation significantly and negatively related to unemployment in the province of West Java. While the variables that do not have a minimum wage effect is regional, gross domestic regional product and population to the number of unemployed in the province of West Java.

The research variables are variables of education, investment and employment levels and a significant positive effect on unemployment in the province of West Java, while working capital and significant negative effect on unemployment in the province of West Java. While the variables that do not have a regional impact is minimum wage, domestic regional product, inflation, and the number of residents to the number of unemployed in the province of West Java.
